Connectivity for Medical Applications

Course Description

Continua guidelines v1.0 state that Personal Health Care Device Class (PHCDC) and IEEE® 11073 standards should be used in order to achieve interoperability between medical devices. We will explore both standards and see how to achieve this type of communications with the JM and JS families. We will also look at the medical device applications including adding communication interfaces to a typical blood pressure monitor. Lastly, we will discuss the applicability of ZigBee as Continua prepares to release v2.0 guidelines.
