Freescale has raised the bar 802.15.4 platform IC by integrating the RF transceiver and low power MCU into a single chip. The MC1321x family integrates an 8-bit MCU with an IEEE® 802.15.4 compliant 2.4 GHz transceiver into a single 9x9mm LGA package. The platform provides for scalable FLASH memory size from 16K to 60K, providing solutions for wireless sensing and control applications that require networks that support simple point-to-point solutions to more complex 802.15.4 mesh networks.
The MC13224 Platform in Package is Freescale's latest addition of low power 802.15.4 ICs. The MC13224 has significantly reduced the power consumption while increasing integration, reducing the total solution cost. The 802.15.4 transceiver is combined with a 32-bit MCU and plenty of memory to run more complex protocol stacks including ZigBee® and WirelessHARTTM. So no matter what your applications needs are, Freescale has a solution to meet them.
