The Electro-Mechanical Brake Reference Design exhibits the suitability and advantages of the 56F8300 family of Digital Signal Controllers for intensive automotive control applications (Hybrid braking like systems) featuring a 3-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with an encoder and Hall-effect position sensors.
This application utilizes a vector control approach of the 3-phase PMSM using dedicated low-voltage (automotive 12V) controller board of MC56F8323 controller, MC33989 system basis chip, MC33982 intelligent single switch, and MC33896 3-phase FET pre-driver.
The Electro-Mechanical Brake Reference Design is controlled via FreeMASTER control page utilizing RS232/CAN communication.
