Freescale’s 56F801X family combines, on a single chip, the processing power of a digital signal processor (DSP) and the functionality of a microcontroller.
With a flexible set of peripherals, it provides a high-performance 16-bit solution for motor control applications that require a greater number of pulse width modulators (PWMs).
The 56F801X is a 56800E core-based digital signal controller (DSC) that utilizes Harvard architecture consisting of three execution units operating in parallel, allowing as many as six operations per instruction cycle.
