Freescale named to the 2008 World's Most Ethical Companies list by Ethisphere Institute
Ethisphere, a think-tank dedicated to the research and promotion of profitable best practices in global governance, business ethics, compliance and corporate responsibility, placed Freescale on its second-annual World's Most Ethical Companies list.Researchers and analysts reviewed several thousand companies in order to determine the finalists, which included a rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. The 2008 World's Most Ethical Companies methodology committee is comprised of leading attorneys, government officials, professors and leaders who care about ethical and honest business practices.


Freescale named a winner of the Managing Automation2008 Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards
Freescale was selected as a winner of the fourth annual Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards, selected by Managing Automation, a Thomas Publishing Company, LLC media brand. Freescale was recognized in the data and integration category for its innovative use of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to track product in its Oak Hill Fab, a semiconductor wafer factory in Austin, Texas.


Freescale Redistributed Chip Packaging (RCP) makes Elektra Awards shortlist
Freescale's RCP integrated die and packaging technology was shortlisted in Electronics Weekly's Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards 2007. Eclipsing a record-number of entries this year, Freescale's RCP was recognized in the R&D category.


Intelligent Golf Club receives Tech Innovation Award
Freescale's design, "Intelligent Golf Club" was selected by Austin Business Journal as winner of their annual Tech Innovation Award. Containing Freescale's sensors and microcontrollers, this design was created by Matt Peters, an applications engineer for ColdFire® microcontrollers. The embedded chip inside the club's head and sensors placed in the shaft streams data to a computer to reveal the golf swing's velocity, club's angle of impact and where the ball should land on a simulated golf course.

Freescale's design, "Intelligent Golf Club" was selected by Austin Business Journal as winner of their annual Tech Innovation Award. MRAM Selected for R&D Magazine’s Top 100
R&D Magazine selected the MR2A16A MRAM device as one of the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year.


Freescale is is named top supporter for 2007 by US Black Engineer & Information Technology
The fourth annual survey by US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine identified 51 private-sector and 52 government and nonprofit organizations that the deans of the ABET-accredited HBCU engineering programs and the board members of the corporate-academic alliance, Advancing Minorities’ Interest in Engineering (AMIE) consider to be most supportive, and Freescale was again chosen as one of the top supporters of HBCU engineering programs.


2007 Best Product Winner: 4-Mbit MRAM
Freescale's 4-Mbit magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) was selected by Design News as a Golden Mousetrap Best Product Winner in the Electronics: Digital/Embedded Control category for 2007. The award recognizes the Freescale's MR2A16A, which offers a multitude of practical advantages over today's memory schemes, including the ability to retain data when turned off; ability to reduce system power; better performance in write-speed and endurance; lower energy consumption during the write cycle and exceptional reliability.


Audio chipset wins EDN Innovation Award
Freescale’s Symphony Class D chipset is the winner of EDN’s 2007 Innovation Award in the Analog IC category. EDN cited the chipset’s use of “an innovative digital feedback technique to achieve remarkable performance.”


Freescale named Quality and Integration Supplier of the Year by Jabil Circuit Chihuahua
Jabil de Chihuahua honored Freescale Latin America with the Quality and Integration Supplier of the Year in 2006 award. Freescale has helped Jabil Chihuahua maintain an important position in a market segment where quality requirements are demanding and price competition is strong; also enabling Jabil de Chihuahua stay competitive, offering good, reliable and high-quality products.


Freescale wins 2007 EE Times China ACE Awards
Freescale Semiconductor has been chosen as the winner in three categories for the 2007 EE Times China Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards, which recognizes the people, companies and products that show leadership in the electronics industry.
  • Best Product of the Year — Microcontrollers (MCUs) Category — MC9RS08KA Family
  • Best Product of the Year — Memory Category — MRAM
  • Best Product of the Year — RF & Microwave Category — RFX300-20 Processor

Freescale was also a finalist for the Best Brand of the Year award.


MRAM wins Analysts' Choice Award
In-Stat’s Microprocessor Report — Semiconductor honored Freescale’s 4-bit MRAM device in the award category “Innovation.” The award winners were selected by In-Stat technology analysts, the team behind the internationally-recognized newsletter Microprocessor Report, and the annual Spring and Fall Processor Forums.

General Motors recognizes Freescale at North American International Auto Show (NAIAS)
Freescale was recognized by General Motors for overall excellence in supporting GM’s product efforts. Freescale is the only semiconductor company to receive this recognition at the NAIAS.

Freescale lands two of EDN’s ‘Hot 100 Products of 2006’
Two innovative products from Freescale Semiconductor have won recognition in EDN magazine’s list of Hot 100 Products of 2006. Freescale’s MC34703 QUICCsupply 3 power management device made the list in the power products category, and EDN chose the MSC8144 digital signal processor (DSP) based on StarCore™ technology in the processor category.

Freescale’s 4 Mbit MRAM device named Product of the Year
Electronic Products magazine honored Freescale's 4 Mbit MR2A16A magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) device with its Product of the Year award. Freescale's successful commercialization of this memory technology could hasten new classes of electronic products offering dramatic advances in size, cost, power consumption and system performance.

MC9RS08KA selected as "China Embedded Systems New Technology 2006"
The Freescale MC9RS08KA family was selected by Electronic Engineering Product World as one of the 10 "China Embedded Systems New Technology" winners in 2006. The award recognizes the KA family for outstanding performance, innovativeness and product breakthrough.

EE Times Ultimate Products of the Year 2006 Award Finalist, Processor Category
Freescale’s MPC5200B processor, designed for next-generation telematics and infotainment solutions, was a finalist for Processor/Memory. With 760 million instructions per second (MIPS) of processing power, it offers vehicle manufacturers an automotive processor that can unite in-car infotainment and navigation applications.

Best Product Finalist: Slave LIN Interface Communication Module
The Freescale MC908QLXX Series was selected by Design News as a Best Product Finalist in the category of Electronics for 2006. The award recognizes the Freescale’s Slave LIN Interface Communication (SLIC) Module, which eliminates the need for expensive non-volatile memory on automotive microcontrollers used in "LIN" networks (Local Interconnect Networks used for window lifts, seat motors and lighting in vehicles).

Freescale team wins Sensors Magazine 2006 "Engineer of the Year" Award
The editors at Sensors Magazine awarded Freescale's Inertial Sensor Applications Team the magazine's inaugural "Engineer of the Year" Award. Rod Borras, Leticia Gomez, Michelle Kelsey and Akihiro Ueda were recognized "for their development of a reliable system and method for detecting free-fall of portable electronics products."

Freescale Leadership wins EE Times ACE Awards
Freescale has been chosen as the winner in two categories for the EE Times Second Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards, which recognizes the people, companies and products that show leadership in the electronics industry.

The honors were presented at the EE Times ACE Awards Gala on April 4 during the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley.

Freescale Power Management IC Wins Portable Design™ Magazine Award
Freescale's MPC18730 power management IC recently won the prestigious 2005 Portable Design Editor's Choice Award, highlighting its outstanding contribution as a power management solution for such applications as MP3 players, PDAs, voice-over-IP (VoIP) phones and other battery-powered consumer products.

Freescale garners two Finalists for EDN Magazine's 2005 Innovation Awards
Freescale has been recognized as a finalist in two 2005 EDN Innovation Awards, including recognition in the Processors category for its MPC8548E PowerQUICC™ III Communications Processor and the Sensors and Components category for its MMA7260Q Three-Axis MEMS Sensor.

Freescale's Ultra-Wideband wins The Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Award
Freescale received a Technology Innovation Award from the The Wall Street Journal for its commercial Ultra-Wideband (UWB) products. Named a winner under the Wireless category, Freescale was recognized for its efforts to enable the first consumer products using UWB.


General Motors 2005 Supplier of the Year Award
General Motors awarded Freescale as their 2005 Supplier of the Year. Freescale is the only semiconductor company to receive this prestigious GM recognition in two consecutive years during the 14-year history of the award program.
