To increase assurance of supply while maintaining the quality of our products for our customers, Freescale's finished goods shelf life is extending to five years. Customers have been notified via the GPCN process. Freescale's warranty begins at the time of shipment to the customer and remains unchanged. We're delighted that our customers will see the upside of having greater supply available for sale, without experiencing any downside in quality.
To further ensure that Freescale's reliability and quality standards are met throughout a product's lifecycle, an ongoing reliability monitor has been in place for a number of years. Product family monitors are developed by identifying the appropriate device for each process family, and appropriate stress test programs are put in place. Monitor testing is completed on an ongoing cycle with test results summarised on a quarterly basis. Previous reports have been available by email for a number of years, but with continued investment in Freescale systems, these reports are now available for customers online.
