Telehealth System  Favorite




One of the trends in the home medical market is the need to monitor patients away from a hospital or doctor’s office and to make devices available that monitor vital signs while at home. The patient’s data is then transferred to the healthcare provider.

Physicians or home healthcare companies give patients a telehealth hub device to use at home. This telehealth hub connects home portable devices used to measure vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature and other measurements depending on the patient’s needs. This information is then sent to the hub via USB, Bluetooth® or ZigBee®. The hub then relays the patient’s vital sign information to his/her physician at periodic intervals, usually once a day, via Ethernet, Wi-Fi®, POTS or the cellular network.

Freescale offers a variety of 32-bit microcontrollers and microprocessors with integrated communication protocols and display drivers that are ideal for telehealth hub devices.
