i.MX51 applications processor family expands, i.MX51 evaluation kit with PMIC now available

The Freescale product family that helped spark the fast-growing smartbook category expands to include new processors that deliver outstanding performance and energy efficiency. The family, based on a highly optimized implementation of the ARM Cortex™-A8 core, now includes:

i.MX512 and i.MX513 processors for industrial and consumer applications
i.MX514 and i.MX516 processors for automotive applications

Also available is our newest i.MX51 Evaluation Kit that's based on the i.MX51 applications processor. The kit allows you to develop, debug and demonstrate your next great product without compromising performance. It features the i.MX51 processor and Freescale's MC13892 Power Management User Interface IC, which offers a highly integrated, bi-directional power management IC and communications device functionality.

Low-power capacitive touch sensor added to plug-and-play Sensor Toolbox

We've added an additional Sensor Toolbox development tool with the 12 electrode MPR121 ultra-low-power capacitive touch sensor. The MPR121 ultra-low-power capacitive touch sensor provides 12 electrodes with an intelligent, flexible independent calibration feature to simplify designing numerous touch applications for portable low-power electronic products.
