The MPC8xx Family Application Development System (MPC8xxFADS) is a motherboard that supports porting and application and software development for the MPC8xx family of embedded microprocessors. A daughterboard that operates in conjunction with the MPC8xxFADS motherboard is offered for each MPC8xx microprocessor.
The MPC8xxFADS motherboard provides access to the following ports: 10-Base-T Ethernet, IrDA (including fast-IrDA), dual RS-232, onboard debug with ADI interface, and PCMCIA. In addition, 4M of SDRAM, a 4M SIMM of 60ns EDO RAM, and a 2M SIMM of flash memory are provided. The slot for the EDO RAM SIMM is capable of supporting 32M and the flash SIMM slot is capable of supporting 8M.
