Advanced Search Additional Help The search engine at Freescale.com provides a vantage point from which design engineers, salespersons, decision makers, and other visitors can find device & parametric data, documentation, software and tools, and information about applications and technologies. These Search Help pages explain how to search Freescale.com effectively. General Behavior of the left navigation
The expandable tree structure behaves in the same manner as the explorer. Items with the A Keyword search is the best way for most Freescale.com visitors to find what they need. Keyword search results will provide a clear, quick view of not only of the available resources, but also of the way those resources are classified on our site. By using these classifications to refine one's search further, a general search may find a highly focused result in just a few clicks To search, type one or more words that describe what you need in the Keyword search box at the top of any page. Query entries of two or more keyword are treated with an "and" algorithm. Important: If you do not know the specific part number you are looking for, please use the Keyword search first. A Keyword search will return more results, which you can then Filter and Refine from the left-hand column to find the exact part you need. (Read more about Part Number searches.) A Keyword search will return results that contain the terms you specify and other results recommended by Freescale's engineers and product experts. When available, these recommendations will appear at the top of the results page under the heading Recommended. Filter and Refine: By default, search results are broken down into classifications that you may Filter and Refine by using the clickable links displayed to the left of the results column. Select Device Type or Product Group such as Microncontrollers and Processors or Sensors or Industry area such as Automotive or Consumer to filter through our product catalog and find a specific chip or device; or, Select to refine your results to include only Device & Parametric Data, Documentation, Software & Tools, Application Pages, Reference Designs, FAQs, 3rd Party Support, Orderable Parts, Downloads, or Training. Follow the trail: Regardless, you will see the elements of your search as a trail near the top of the page. The most recent keyword entered appears in the search; other search constraints (Filter ( See More: You may change the number of items per page by using Results per page menu located below the search trail. Our default shows results by relevancy: Non-engineers can use the Keyword search to find information about Freescale's initiatives in standards, its partnerships, and its third-party relationships. Keyword search results include Product and General Information, including information on such events as the Freescale Technology Forum and Product Family homepages. A Product & General Information search results will contain information such events as the Freescale events, Product Family homepages, Promotional Pages, and Tutorial web pages. The Product & General Information search results will be presented with pages name, a description summary and a file type. A Device & Parametric Data search will return results that contain technical information regarding and supporting our products. Orderable part information is available on the Product page. Parametric information is now available at the product level. The expandable tree structure permits you to view all available options for refinement. A Documentation search will return results that contain all technical and marketing documentation. The expandable tree structure permits you to view all available documentation options for refinement. Only relevant options are presented, the counts are listed next to the asset type. A Sofware & Tools search will return results that contain all Hardware, Software tool summary pages and downloadable files. The Tool Summary search will return results that contain technical information regarding and supporting our Sofware & Tools. Orderable part information is also available on the page. The downloadable files contains protocol stacks, models, Readme files or information such as Getting Started or Checklists are examples of the types of information available. A FAQ search will return results that contain technical information regarding and supporting our Freescale products and applications. The expandable tree structure permits you to view all available options for refinement. Only relevant options are presented, the counts are listed next to the asset type. The FAQ search results will be presented with FAQ Topic Subject, a FAQ identification number, date last modified and other related topics. A 3rd Party Support search will return results that contain 3rd parties that support (design services, manufacturing, or tool vendors) Freescale products and applications. The expandable tree structure permits you to view all available options for refinement. Only relevant options are presented, the counts are listed next to the asset type. If you have a part number or partial part number, enter it into the Part Number search box at the top of any page, or go to our Part Number search page and enter a New Search. If no results are returned: If a Part Number search does not return the expected result(s), try removing characters from either end of the part number. This should return more results, which you can refine further by following the instructions below. If you are still unable to find the part you are looking for, try a Keyword search or open a service request (requires registration). A Downloads search will return results that contain all Hardware and Software tool downloadable files. The Downloads search will return results with downloadable development tools, run-time software, updates & patches, and hardware components. The expandable tree structure permits you to view all available Tool options for refinement. Only relevant options are presented, the counts are listed next to the asset type. Tool types. A Training search will return results that contain all Freescale training offerings. On-demand Training: Access web-based training modules, archived webinars, and training presentations when you need them via a standard web-browser. Live Training: Find descriptions of Freescale and Freescale partner classroom courses, seminars, and workshops that are offered publicly or are available for scheduling at your facility. Virtual Labs: These are real development tools (evaluation boards, CodeWarrior(tm) development environment, etc.) that are accessible via a standard web browser 24x7. Find example projects and demonstrations that can be compiled, downloaded, and debugged using fully functional tools. Evaluate Freescale tools and devices, learn by doing, or develop your own projects in this protected online environment. Access labs directly or reserve a time for future use. Filter and Refine: You can narrow your search results with the links displayed to the left of the results column.
The Events Schedule allows you to search for all Freescale events, including Seminars, Trade Conferences, Classroom Training, Workshops, Webinars, and Webcasts by selecting "All" in the upper right-hand corner of the Events Schedule table. You can search for events that are not considered training events by selecting "Events" or search for only events that are considered training events by selecting "Training" in the upper right-hand corner of the Events Schedule table. You can further refine your results by filtering by event Type, Vendor, or Region or by sorting on the Date, Name, or Location columns. If you are looking specifically for past events, you can select the Past Events link in the upper left-hand corner of the Events Schedule table.
Obsolete, outmoded, and transferred products: Obsolete products are available in Part Number searches, but the default settings do not display them. If you want to find products that are no longer manufactured, select the filter under status- No Longer Manufactured or transferred.. Your browser should refresh the current table and display new results numbers next to the Filter by: and Refine your results by: listings. In addition, current Freescale customers will find that they can use the Not Recommended for New Design filter to find out if they are using an outmoded part, or to find newer products that fill the same need. Follow the trail: Regardless, you will see the elements of your search as a trail near the top of the page. To print out a copy of your part-number search results, use the Advanced search offers the ability to view all available parametric values and the ability to select and refine by specific values.
