Leadership Perspective
Israel Kashat, President and CEO, Freescale Semiconductor Israel Ltd.
I believe, humbly, that a true leader is characterized by seven items. A leader…
1. Is an example - in behaviors, in self-discipline, in decency, in efforts.
2. Demonstrates clarity and sincerity in decisions, in objectives, in tasks.
3. Is an optimistic person, spreading faith in the goals while also communicating
this with his employees frequently and clearly.
4. Chooses excellent people, raises them, coaches them by a mixture of requirements
and expectations, enables them to flourish independently.
5. Strives to fulfill commitments to his customers and sticks to the rule: Execution
is not everything, it's the only thing...
6. Doesn't compromise -
- Quality (quality is not #1, it's #0...).
- Hard work (a must in our industry).
- Accountability.
- Honesty-compassion-empathy.
7. Remembers Clint Eastwood’s (not a great philosopher, yet true) quote…
"A man's most important assets are his sense of humor and sense of confidence."
