EE Times article on RapidIO Technology Illustrates Press, Audience Excitement over PowerQUICC III Demo
Motorola, the market leader in communications processors, underscored its commitment to the widely used PowerQUICC architecture with a demonstration of the PowerQUICC III processor at its recent Smart Networks Developer Forum in Dallas, Texas.
Motorola demonstrated live silicon functionality of the next-generation MPC8560 PowerQUICC III processor in front of a packed house at the annual networking forum, held March 2326. The PowerQUICC III family is the first product family from Motorola to incorporate RapidIO technology, an open-standard interconnect architecture that offers embedded designers significantly greater bandwidth, scalability and reliability than interconnects used today.
Of all the advanced technologies integrated into the PowerQUICC III processor, RapidIO interconnect technology garnered significant attention from customers, alliance partners, the trade press and industry analysts attending SNDF.
The PowerQUICC III family is Motorola's most complex, highly integrated communications processor architecture to date. EE Times highlighted the PowerQUICC III demonstration, as well as growing RapidIO industry support, in its March 31 issue.
