Pulse Oximetry  Favorite

Pulse oximetry is a simple, non-invasive method of monitoring the percentage of hemoglobin in the blood that is saturated with oxygen.

A pulse oximeter indirectly measures the oxygen saturation of a patient's blood and changes in blood volume in the skin. The saturation level and heart rate are displayed on an LCD display.

Pulse oximeters are either sold as standalone, portable units or are connected to a larger patient monitoring system.

Freescale offers ultra-low-power MCUs that can enable an LCD display ideal for portable pulse oximeters.
